Giulio Frigo
Giulio Frigo was born in 1984 in Arzignano in the province of Vincenza. His artistic training took place first at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts in Milan and subsequently at UCLA in Los Angeles. He is today one of the most promising and interesting young artists on the Italian scene, gaining the attention of professionals, but not only, thanks to his extremely refined and sophisticated ability to reflect on painting, light, and color. The intellectual imagination, the poetics to which Frigo subjects his works, the investigation into the modulation of light, the study of color in the construction of the figures have allowed this artist to reach totally new levels in terms of artistic figuration. Even his cultural eclecticism which has personalities of the caliber of Martin Heidegger, Andrè Malraux, Gino de Dominicis, Giorgio de Chirico and Carlo Carrà as reference figures emerges in his production and raises the level of his works. Giulio Frigo understands painting as a performative act, figurative paintings, attentive to technique, materials and other traditional problems are activated by an abstract, modulated light. Color is used by the artist as a fluid continuum that radiates, expands, changes, emerges, mixes and does not fragment. This is where Giulio Frigo's magic touch is, almost as an alchemist, as in the case of the work in the collection, creating a world closed in the figuration, to create an infinite subjective, multifaceted world, made, in the end, only of light and color .
