"As in everything I do, I work in panic and excitement and I keep not knowing how it will end, so thought and emotion turn out unexpectedly from time to time"

"I hope above all that it is stimulated, in every one of those who look,
That emotional leap that transcends the descriptive data.
This is the ultimate goal of my art"

"I would like a person to come in a room," How interesting is that piece, who did it?" rather than, "This is a typical job of Lucio Pozzi."

Lucio Pozzi

For the first time in Palermo – a solo show of LUCIO POZZI (Milan, 1935). The exhibition - accompanied by Marcello Carriero's text - opens the planning of the Gallery in its new headquarters in the historic center of the city. The exhibition will be inaugurated on saturday 17 June 2017 at 6 pm and will be open until September 2, from Tuesday to Saturday, from 4 pm to 8 pm.

Lucio Pozzi is an artist who met during his artistic affair with the American avant-gardes with whom he shared temperatures and experiments between the sixties and seventies, having moved to New York at that time fertile and problematic that coincided with minimalism, conceptual art and antiform.
Although consistent with his time and his research, Pozzi has always considered the linguistic problem of painting in his dialectical sign and surface component, as well as in the function of emotional color connotation.
This two-pronged approach Pozzi expresses itself in multiple forms in which the image is always linked to phenomenal nature, though sometimes subordinate to the visual solution.
From performance to environmental installation, Lucio Pozzi's works have always made clear two opposing systems, a dialogue that has always missed the didactic narrative and the simple commentary on reality.

The exhibited works represent the consistency of this path, in fact, have been chosen from the farthest ones in the time and the latest ones, in a solution that is far from anthology.
