Cihan Çakmak
A graduate of the Leipzig Academy of Fine Arts, Cihan Çakmak continued her studies at the International Center of Photography in New York and later at the Faculty of Design, Technology and Communication at the University of Lisbon; in 2017 she graduated in Photography at the University of Dortmund. Winner of a scholarship from the Friedrich Ebert Foundation in Bonn, she participated in an artist residency in Marrakech. Winner of international prizes and awards, her works have been shown in group and solo exhibitions in some of Europe's most important cities and are included in important collections such as the Museum der bildenden Künste in Leipzig, the Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst in Leipzig, the Arendt Collection in Luxembourg and the Staatliche Kunstsammlungen in Dresden. The artist has contributed to various publications, including in Zeit Magazine, Missy Magazine, Focus Magazine. She recently published here first photobook with SHIFT BOOKS. She lives and works between Leipzig, Berlin and Lisbon.
